NY1 – Let Mike Tolkin Debate Bill De Blasio

Millennial Politics formally calls on NY1 to invite Mike Tolkin to participate in the NYC Mayoral General Election Debate and face off against Incumbent Mayor Bill De Blasio on Tuesday 10/10.

NY1, in partnership with the Campaign Finance Board, will host Incumbent Mayor Bill De Blasio, Republican Candidate Nicole Malliotakis, and Third-Party Candidate Bo Dietl for a general election debate.

Tolkin has technically qualified for the debate per the Campaign Finance Board’s stipulations (they even sent him the below letter indicating such), but the one outstanding criterion is an “official invite from the media sponsor”, NY1.

In order for this to be a truly democratic process and to provide New Yorkers with all of the available options to lead the Executive Branch of this city, NY1 should invite Independent Candidate Mike Tolkin to participate in this debate.

Tolkin earned over 20,000 votes in the September Democratic Primary, and in November he will be running on the newly formed “Smart Cities” Party line.
