There’s a pattern now. News of a shooting breaks and the internet scrambles to find out the identity of the shooter. Does it fit their narrative? Millions of people and tons of organizations instantly start weighing in. But, when the shooter is white, one group stays oddly silent.
Every single thing about these tragedies is disturbing. But, what continues to be most disturbing time and time again is the deafening silence from the organization that is most responsible for the lax gun laws in the United States, and the belief that there is a need to “protect the Second Amendment”: The National Rifle Association.
Studies show that a higher prevalence of firearms lead to more injuries by firearms (shocker, right?). But the NRA doesn’t believe in data. Nor do they even believe in studying gun violence.
They’ve got Congress so bought and paid for that not a single Republican will stand up and even entertain the idea of DEBATING basic gun legislation.
At the end of the day, the NRA has a well-documented pattern after a mass shooting like this: they hibernate and wait out the storm only to feign interest in passing the most minimal of legislation like banning “Bump Stocks” (which never came to pass).
But, when the attacker is a minority, they have no problem jumping into the fray.

How many more Americans have to die from being shot to death before we can have an honest conversation about gun control?
Right now it doesn’t appear there’s a ceiling.
