She Should Run is an organization dedicated to recruiting the next generation of female leaders. Since November 8th, already 4,500+ women have signed up to learn more about running for local office.
Having recently been featured in NY Mag, something tells us that this number may have grown.
What’s their mission and why?
She Should Run provides the spark for women’s political careers by inspiring more women to consider public office, and they make the case that public service matters. Data shows that when women run for office they win at the same rates as men, yet women are not encouraged and recruited at the same rate as men.
She Should Run’s robust Ask a Woman to Run program provides a community that encourages women to run and then connects women with resources, people and organizations who can help start their path towards public service.
The She Should Run Incubator is their online program to help more women envision themselves in public leadership, and one way of providing thoughtful guidance and support for women considering a future run.
Unique among other traditional organizations that recruit specific women for specific seats, She Should Run’s goal is to expand the community of women considering public service as a leadership path.
